Betrayal by Phillip Margolin

4.0

I was really in the mood for a good legal thriller and Phillip Margolin’s Betrayal more than filled the bill. An entire family is murdered and there are multiple people who had a motive to kill one of them, but the police immediately zeroed in on Robin Lockwood’s client. The evidence against her was definitely circumstantial but her past actions made her such a likeable suspect that the DA had no qualms about indicting her. While Betrayal is part of a series it easily reads as a standalone. The current murder and trial are all that matters and once you meet Robin and her brilliant insights you will want to go back and read about some of her other cases.
