Rubyfruit Jungle by Rita Mae Brown

It's really affirming to read queer literature which has withstood the test of time. It was wonderful when it was published and it is still wonderful today. If you liked The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls, you'll probably enjoy this as well. It has a similar coming of age vibe and depicts imperfect childhoods/parental relationships in a nuanced way.
