I'll Be Gone in the Dark: One Woman's Obsessive Search for the Golden State Killer by Michelle McNamara

5.0

An absolutely incredible work that is one part memoir, one part investigative journalism, one part true crime, and one part mystery, McNamara's posthumous passion project is utterly riveting from start to finish. The narrator of the audio book is excellent as well, which only serves to draw the reader in more closely. I listened on a long rainy drive home from PA and found myself making excuses to drive around the rest of the week just to listen to it more. If you are a murderino or just a fan of excellent nonfiction writing, this is for you.
