Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare

5.0

Wow... I dare say this is my favorite book in the Shadowhunter series.

What can I say to praise this book? Because whatever I say in this review will never be enough to show how much I've loved and enjoyed it.
The Infernal Devices is now my favorite Shadowhunter series, dethroning The Mortal Instruments, meanwhile The Dark Artifices sits at number three (way too long and complicated and exhausting to read).

Here are some of my highlights from Clockwork Princess:
. The character development of Gabriel and Gideon Lightwood, Gideon is an absolute sweetheart and Gabriel turned out to be a decent and lovely character after all.
. Henry Branwell's whole interaction with Magnus Bane, Henry is adorable and deserved the praise Magnus gave him.
. Charlotte Fairchild being an absolute powerhouse and her becoming the new Consul was simply perfect for her character.
. Will's dedication to finding Tessa, the struggles he went through to get there, the entire journey was very strong.
. Tessa's general plot this book was excellent, and her becoming the Ultimate Nephilim thing was pretty awesome.
. Jem, wonderful and lovable Jem's journey throughout this book, from his love declarations and that scene where he played Tessa a piece he wrote for her were just... Him becoming a Silent Brother (which I saw coming because I read this series after TMI and TDA) was very interesting and his goodbyes with Tessa and Will were incredible.
. The final battle, which happened a bit too early in the book for my taste, was really good and well-written.
. Jessamine's existence as a ghost seemed odd to me (even though I also saw it coming since I had read Dark Artifices), and I hope It'll be explored further more in The Last Hours.
. Sophie becoming an official Shadowhunter, and her happy life with Gideon was very, very cute and well-deserved.

And finally, that epilogue broke me.. Absolutely broke me.
Hearing about Will's passing, Jem's return to play the violin and Tessa's way of explaining the meaning of Jem's music was simply breathtaking and heartbreaking at the same time.

All in all, this series (and this particular book) is now my favorite out of them all and I just cannot further express how in love I am with these characters and these stories.
