Part of Your World by Abby Jimenez

5.0

While I wouldn't recommend this book to everyone (the sex scenes) I really enjoyed this audiobook. Despite some steamy stuff, and addressing domestic abuse (both physical and mental) this was a really cute romance read (matching the cover image). I really liked the characters. There were two main POVs (Alexis and Daniel). First person/Past tense. Contemporary/Realistic/Romance. Both Alexis and Daniel were very likeable, there was enough angst to the situation (difference in age, station, future plans) that I wasn't sure how it would work out. It managed to address some tough stuff (abuse) without it weighing everything down.

A couple other totally random things, personal connections that can just make me "ahhh" and feel even more fondly toward a book. Someone made sourdough ... I make sourdough, so that's something I notice.  There were two Fitbit references (one a simple check of steps, the other a doctor's "I can't believe this happened" recollection, of a cheating guy getting a notification, the GF demanding to see it, and him swallowing the Fitbit to prevent her from looking at it. "And it was still counting his steps from inside his stomach"  :)  I'm a Fitbit gal - how many steps do you have today (I'm not quite at my 10k as I type this up, better get moving!) Then there was mentions of audiobooks ... obviously I love audiobooks! PLUS ... lots of Princess Bride quotes!

So - while I'm not sure this is a 5* read as far as "sooo wonderful/classic" it is one that I felt completely connected to and was a little sad when it was over.
