The Promise by Ki Brightly, Meg Bawden

Did not finish book. Stopped at 56%.
zero chemistry, none whatsoever, nowhere to be found. And some of the most uninspired sex scenes I've ever read.

West is a 36 year old manchild who is incapable of being anyone's daddy. He doesn't set rules or expectations, refuses to listen, any attempt to communicate with him only makes him angry and leads to "punishments". He strongly encourages his brother in law to get a job and make friends, then gets jealous when they meet one of these new friends, who was just a coworker. They never ever ever talk about safe words, West just does things and is either like "wave if it's ok" (with no way for Shane to say it's NOT ok or to ask to stop), or belatedly asked "was it good" after he does it.

Just a deeply unpleasant personality and not in a fun way, so I'm not enjoying the book
