The Marquess Makes His Move by Diana Quincy

4.5

I was nervous for this book - I don’t love books that feature a revenge/lying plot and that’s a big part of this one. Alex, the Marquess of Brandon, infiltrates a mapmaker’s house as a footman to get proof that the mapmaker drew an incorrect boundary, giving his neighbor some of his land.

Of course the heroine is the wife of this mapmaker… who also happens to be the REAL mapmaker.

I have a lot of questions for Alex. Was this really the best turn of events? Not meeting with Roger Fleming, the mapmaker, or the neighbor, or the neighbor’s grandfather, an earl? He’s a marquess!

But of course, it’s for the sake of the story.

The banter between Alex and Rose, the heroine, starts on page one (literally). Every interaction they had was so good.

There were some twists I wasn’t expected and I loved the book overall, even though I was having anxiety the whole time because I was like “WHAT IS HAPPENING? STOP LYING!”
