Cora is the Marked shop manager and body piercer. Marked is her family - they were there for her when she was trying to put her life back together when she found her finance cheating on her. She will do anything for her found family. they gave her the stability her career naval dad couldn't give her. So when Rome's Army career abruptly ends and his grumpy attitude has him spitting hate about her family - she ain't having none of that. She puts Captain No Fun in his place. After an IED ends Rome's career he feels lost, he doesn't know what to do if his family doesn't need protecting or if he isn't fighting a war; combine that with some PTSD and Rome finds his comfort in the bottom of a vodka bottle more often than not.
Cora and Rome get each other. They do not have an easy road. Even thought Rome wants Cora to be his saving grace he realizes he needs to do the work too. Their story was the most emotional one so far. Rome's issues and fears really brought the tears out. I loved that he had Brite to help guide him and Cora to comfort him when he needed to break a little bit. I also loved that Rome and Rule were able to talk to Remy's boyfriend - getting some of the closure they needed. Really loved every bit of Rome and Cora's story.
