The One Who Got Away by Caroline Overington

2.0

This book suffered from being read immediately after one of Liane Moriarty's. Overington's style is heavy-handed by comparison, and her characterisations lack Moriarty's insight and nuance. The narrative devices were clunky and the twist at the end was predictable. I persevered because it had been recommended by others whose judgement I respect, but I was glad to finish it.
