"Twillengyle is a place to be embraced with one arm, with a dagger ready in the other hand. To be charmed by its magic is not the same as becoming its fool, Moira. Remember that."

The writing is lush and tantalizing, and I immediately fell head over heels in love with Moira and Jude. Aside from some graphic descriptions of the murder(s?), this appears to be a wonderfully safe reading choice for the younger side of the YA spectrum, yet is just as enjoyable for the older ages as well. The premise was unique and sustainable from beginning to end, and I did not solve the case before the big reveal. Highly recommended to readers looking for an atmospheric, realistic feeling fantasy, and I look forward to Powell's sophomore novel!
