The Woman in Me by Britney Spears
5.0
To say that I’m a Britney fan is putting it mildly. This woman is who I grew up idolizing. I went to her tours from ages 6 to age 17. I had every single Britney piece of merchandise and analyzed every lyric so deeply. Some people might assume I’d write a bias review, and maybe this is bias. But I can’t fathom how anyone would argue this is some really five-star stuff right here. Reading this book was an amazing experience. “I guess what I’m saying is that the mystery of who the real me is, is to my advantage — because nobody knows!” We Stan a true queen!!! This world-shattering artist isn’t crazy. She’s been being judged since she was a child. We thought we knew what she went through, but we had no idea. I had chills reading this book. Hearing her experience hidden behind the core memories that formed from the events we all remember so well is shocking — Britney continues to inspire me to this day. I would give this more than five stars if I could. She can dance, she can act, she can sing (and by sing I mean be one of the most influential and successful female artists in the history of female artists…), and she can write books. She’s a mother, and a damned good one. (If anyone ever questioned that they certainly won’t after reading this.) She’s not crazy, she’s a beautiful artist being who she wants to be for us all. She’s a performer and she’s finally free. WE LOVE YOU BRITNEY JEAN!
