Lucky by Alice Sebold
5.0
I first read Alice Sebold when I picked up a copy of the Lovely Bones at the airport when my flight was delayed for ten hours. I finished the book in one sitting and I loved it. To this day, it is still one of my favorite books and I still find myself thinking about it often.
When I decided to read Lucky, I knew it would be different since it was a memoir. I loved this probably almost as much as I loved "The Lovely Bones". This book was powerful and inspiring. I have to read "The Almost Moon" now, and sincerley hope that Alice will write another book.
I would recommend this book to anyone. Everyone who criticizes that everything in her life became about the rape, shoudl take some time to think about how they would handle a brutal event such as this in their life. Alice took years to come to terms with what happened to her and Lila even after her rapist was convicted and sentenced. Give this one a chance. You will not regret your decision.
