So I don't really have much to say about this book other than that it's got a lot of HEAVY HITTING content. Like damn. I would never wish any of the situations happening to Demon on anyone (except maybe my enemies), so there's that. But yeah, as far as my fair share of literature goes, this was definitely outside of my usual fair. It was illuminating all the same, and did remind me tonally of Where the Crawdads Sing, since both tackle socioeconomic issues at large, albeit with two diametrically opposed characters and situations.
