I think this is an important story and I'm glad I took the time for it, but I didn't find it a compelling (or even engaging) comic. It rushes over points, never clearly establishes its characters, and doesn't give me (an admittedly largely ignorant-of-Cambodian-history American) much background to build my understanding on. Perhaps I should've read an article or two on Cambodian history so I could focus on the micro-details without being distracted by the macro. Still, seems like a truly awful time and place in our human history. I'm truly sorry for everyone who had to live through it.
