⭐️ 5 adorable stars ⭐️
After reading so many small moments about Vaza and Gail throughout IPB, we finally got a novella about their lives and relationship and it was so frkn wholesome 🥰
*let me just add this to my favourites real quick*

"And my heart would sing with great joy to have a son or daughter once more. My joy has been overwhelming since you came into my life."
He takes my hand in his again and presses it to his chest, under his fur cloak, and my cold knuckles meet warm plating.
"It does not matter that this does not sing with resonance. My heart is alive again, and if its song is silent, I do not mind. It sings here," he tells me, and points at his head. "That is all I need."
While this story is about Gail and Vaza adopting an orphaned baby from new clan members—definitely overlaps IPB and Icehome series—I absolutely adored learning about Vaza's past!
More than just an eager widow who gave Raahosh horrible advice for his and Liz's honeymoon lol Vaza and Gail connected on mutual experiences and personal losses and... just 🥺 just read it, okay? It's heartbreakingly wonderful.
“Don’t make promises you don’t intend to keep, old man.”
“Oh, I will keep them, my young beauty.” And he winks at me, his hand sliding to caress my ass. “Put our son to sleep early, because his mother will be spending time in the furs with his father tonight.”
I give another high-pitched giggle of happiness, sounding like a woman half my age.
Plenty of moments with OG characters and their growing families 🥰 I never get sick of the crossovers and new interactions between old and new clan members 💕
Liz and the girls she’s teaching show up at the fire in the afternoon and they chop vegetables and meat to make stew in one of the industrial-sized pouches that serve as cookpots in this place. Raashel helps her mother, and Aayla, well, Aayla gnaws on a vegetable before tossing it into the pile with the others. One of the new girls, Tia, looks appalled, but anyone that’s had a baby knows that a little slobber never hurt anything.
A well deserved 5 stars 💫
