A very compelling story with haunting twists and an interesting premise. The villains may be a bit flat, but our heroine’s charm and narration makes the read bearable. It might not have struck a chord with me as much as gothic staples like Wuthering Heights, but it is certainly a fun read for any gothic horror/fiction fan.
