The Worst Duke in London by Amalie Howard is a different book for me to rate because it took me quite a while to read. Normally I fly through books, especially historical fictions, but the choppiness of my reading aligns with the choppiness of the writing style.

I liked the character of Gage, but I felt it was hard to connect with Lady Evangeline. Her character, though in a historical setting, was very modern in both behavior and inner monologue. This doesn't normally bother me, but it just didn't work for me in this one.

It's not the worst book I've read, but it's not one I'd revisit.
