Old Gods by Conor Kerr

2.0

This book had strong themes and convictions, and was overall a very well-collected selection of poems, each reinforcing ideas referenced by the others to create a semblance of a thesis statement. However, all of this means nothing if the language used was not, for lack of better term, good. Poetry, as an art form, relies heavily upon language and the ways in which it can be played with and presented, and this book not only did nothing interesting in that regards but didn't even do it well. Overall quite trite and plain.
