This story is one that will linger in my mind long after finishing it. I admit the Vietnam war is not one I have any knowledge of, except what I’ve learned from pop culture like Forest Gump. I can now say that my eyes have been opened more to the war and its atrocities. I liked that this book not only dealt with the fighting in Vietnam, but also what life was like for veterans returning home. I loved the female perspective on all of this and certainly women’s place in history.
