The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch

5.0

A book must be pretty good for me evade sleep and read the last 130 or so pages (almost a quarter of the whole book) without putting it down. It took me a little while to get properly into this, but that's mainly because the writing style is different to other books I've read recently – chapters within chapters within ‘books’, not to mention jumping between the past and present. But all-in-all this was unlike anything I've read before, it kept me hooked, shocked and surprised me and almost made me cry at several points. (Maybe I'm just overly emotional/easily attached to characters in books!) Looking forward to reading the second book, I just hope it's as good as this one.
