One of the most well-written books I've ever had the pleasure of reading! It's a hard, sad, violent story of a WWI front-line soldier growing old and remembering the past, but full of humor, hope and wisdom. I'm a better person having read this! Thank you to Nancy Broome for consistently recommending such a fantastic book!
