I adored this book. It made me so sad and so happy. I relate to Tori so much she is so full of self-hatred that she genuinely believes that she is not worthy of having friends and because of that pushes everyone away.
It’s so nice to see a good representation of how I was as a teenager. I care about these characters so deeply that I had a panic attack when one of them was being attacked by a homophobe.
The book centres Tori Spring and her struggle with undiagnosed depression and inability to maintain relationships. Love does happen but that’s a very minor side plot so I definitely would not label this as a love story.
