It Ends with Us by Colleen Hoover
3.0
During a time when everyone was absolutely buzzing about this book, I never really cared for it enough to pick it up. It only ticked my radar when a friend of mine had recommended it and let me tell you that It Ends with Us was NOT the book I expected it to be. No spoilers, but when I saw the direction this book was going, it had me FLOORED. I was hooked and had serious book hangover by the end of it. Usually I'm not one for romance novels but Colleen Hoover said "Just trust me," and I'm so glad I did. This book changed romance books for me forever. It's not your usual fluffy and cutesy romance, Hoover is not afraid to get real about the complexities of falling in love. This novel will rip your heart out from your chest and you'll be grateful for the experience. I'll be thinking about this book for a long time.
1/17/21 edit: After letting this book marinate a little, it's definitely not one of my favorites. As an empath, I sense Lily and Ryle might be a badly written characters. /j (my 3/5 rating is not a joke)
