Evermore by Alyson Noël

5.0

Ever's life changes one evening when a horrific car crash takes her family and leaves her clinging to life. After recovering, she is uprooted from Oregon and moved to California to live with her Aunt. That would be devasting but it is much worse. She can now see colors swirling around people and their thoughts she can hear. She is freaked out by all of this and then a strange new boy joins her English class. While sorting out her upside down life, her deceased sister hangs out daily with her. Her aunt gives her wide spaces in order to deal with her grief and she has 2 new best friends. Somedays she aches for her old life and other days she embraces her new life. Reading the pain, joy and life Ever now lives and sometimes suffers through, I couldn't stop reading to find out how it all came together. At times it reminded me of Twilight, but this book can and does hold its own until the end which gives you all the answers, just maybe not the ones you were seeking.
