There isn't much that hasn't already been said about this book. It's witty, charming, intelligent, and endlessly entertaining. Not only do I love the original, but I'm always drawn in by the retellings in both book and film formats. Nothing stands up to Ms. Austen's work however; her story is timeless and her characters are authentic. If you haven't read it, you should. Not only is it truly enjoyable, but you'll be able to say you've read a real classic.
