This book is the second one in a series, and can be read as a stand alone. I haven't read the first one and feel I didn't miss plotlines. The mental health representation in this book goes for both characters, and this author takes us in their journey to become better people. He's got generational trauma, and she has insecurities plus body image issues. Once they get together, they help each other cope with those issues and grow. Spice is well done and intentional, it's not gratuitous. The writing is descriptive and emotional, this author conveys human behavior in a relatable way. The witty banter is top notch, there's many scenes that had me giggling.
This book has a perfectly curated playlist and the dedication is awesome.
Please read the trigger warnings on the author's website.
If you like a fake marriage, one bed, age gap stories with lots of emotional moments, this book is for you.
