Leviathan Wakes by James S.A. Corey
5.0
Good, good book. Not hard sci-fi which is a plus for me, with lots of noir and elements of horror. It was very cinematic, I imagined the scenes vividly. It's easy to see why it was made into a series. (Mixed feelings on whether I'll watch the show. I saw an episode previously and wasn't that into it not knowing anything about the book.)
Both protagonists had very engaging stories. I would finish a Miller chapter and want to hurry back to find out what was going on with him, and by the time I finished a Holden chapter I felt the same way about him. I raced through it surprisingly fast for a 550+ page book. Not sure what characters to expect going forward in the series, but regardless I am looking forward to reading the second book.
