I'll Be Gone in the Dark: One Woman's Obsessive Search for the Golden State Killer by Michelle McNamara
5.0
What can I say about this book?
First off, I saw the HBO docu-series first. That is what initially put McNamara and this book on my radar. This meant I had a fair idea of how it going to read but I wasn't prepared for the brilliance of McNamara's writing.
I think, even if you're not a typically a fan of true crime, most people could devour this book as her writing is so enthralling. She weaves her own story in with the story of the victims and detectives who were involved in the EAR-ONS/GSK crimes.
Letter to an old man is one of the most spine tingling things I have ever read and I hope, that somehow, McNamara knows that he was caught and justice was served.
