what really brought this to a 3-star for me was the last 29%. rafael showed more development in the last quarter of the book than in the rest. i found the setbacks and push and pull between ellie and rafael tiring because neither of them properly vocalized why they were upset. however, it was realistic. their issues made sense and why they had trouble being vulnerable. the love story was allright but the slow burn was just miscommunication.
