update: still fun! had me gasping, screaming and laughing out loud. ending felt anticlimactic. mostly, because holly black just isn't that great at setting a scene. at least her characters (besides vivi, heather and the painfully forgettable mix of different court representatives) are charismatic.
honestly, i feel devastated now that i have finished the series and can't really let go of it just yet. it's a story that truly pulled me in, lured me into its world of traps and riddles and eventually left me yearning for more (how romantic). point being, this was a fun yet nerve-wracking ride that deserved to have been explored more. some parts felt a bit rushed, some scenes needed more depth, more observations.
