This book is honestly the single best criticism of isekai I've seen. A lot of other works poke fun at some of the dumber tropes common in the genre, but JK Haru goes for the throat with some hard hitting criticism of the exploitative and sexist themes the genre frequently relies on. The book doesn't come from a place of hate for the genre though, rather a genuine yearning for something better.

The dry humor and mundane descriptions of sex might be a turn-off for some, but the abrasive humor and themes made for a fantastic dark comedy. The story was entertaining but as far away from wish-fulfillment as possible. It kinda felt like a Tik Tok recreating Handmaid's Tale but doing anything it possibly can to avoid losing your attention for even a single second.

I'll be vague to avoid spoilers, but the ending was pretty dumb. It didn't ruin the story by any means, but it was definitely jarring and laughably different from the rest of the story. It was the worst part of the book, but it was still a satisfying ending to a solid book.
