This book is a mix of historical and sci-fi. It takes a really dark subject of the main character constantly being set back to help/save/assist her white ancestor who was a slave owner, and she has to play the part (well actually become) a slave for the times that she is in the past. It pulls your heart in every direction, there is suspense, there is love, there is learning and discovering to be done.
