I enjoyed really enjoyed Oranges. I found it had Northern humour in some parts and moral and ethical questions in others.
I think the fact that I mainly listened to it as an audiobook really helped. Winterson is the reader for the audio and brings with it her real, northern, upbringing.
It's also a fascinating read for anyone who is an ally of the LGBTQ+ community as Winterson learns how to balance her religious upbringing with her sexuality.
