Highly enjoyable but nothing too new or challenging, a very simple and fun book to read, it was perfect by-the-pool material. The main character is funny but impossible to really root for as he's a bit too unusual, and all the side characters are one-dimensional, purpose-serving, side pieces. But the murder mystery element was fun and as I say, Dexter is pretty funny.
