Ambrosia by C.N. Crawford

3.0

Ambrosia by C.N. Crawford is the second, and final, book in the Frost and Nectar series. The book starts with a quick recap of what happened in the first book, Frost, which is good to freshen up your memory.

“Did I want to care for him, devour him, or straddle him? I was no longer sure.”

In Ambrosia we follow Ava as she is magically transported to another world after winning the Seelie Queen competition and sitting on the throne. Her homeworld, which is known as the Court of Sorrows, a wild and untamed Unseelie world.

Yes, Ava is an Unseelie, a demon, a threat to the Seelie. In this world she rocks an awesome pair of copper horns. Torin followed her to this place and is now faced with an internal war… the girl that was intended to be his bride appears to be an enemy of his kingdom. But not only that, also the reason his parents got killed and he needs to live with a curse which causes him to freeze the ones he loves when he touches them.

“Faeries, come take me away out of this dull world, For I would ride with you upon the wind, Run on the top of the disheveled tide, And dance upon the mountains like a flame.”

This book was both slow and fast paced. Some chapters where relentlessly slow, and frankly, some chapters could have been shortened or left out imho. Other chapters felt rushed, especially towards the end of the book. And it would have been nice to have some pov’s from Orla. But nevertheless I enjoyed this book, the struggles, the pains and the steamy scenes.

I did find myself often predicting what would happen, same as in the first book, but that being said, this did not make me enjoy the book less. Ambrosia is a nice mix of heroism, strong female characters and swoonworthy scenes.
