Seduced by the Highlander by Julianne MacLean
3.0
Omg, this book. This review contains spoilers do not read it if you don't want to know the plot.
I liked it, so far my favorite I'll have to say is the seconds. So far! This means that yes, I might be continuing this series.
However, let's go back to this one:
So, Lachlan is cursed. I confess on the last book when this happened, I though it's fake. Raonaid has visions, but she's not a full-fledged witch. I was right!
HAHAHAHA
Still, it was funny reading about his predicaments. Yes, sometimes I am a sadist towards men. He deserved it in some ways. He was a total womanizer, who played with women's hearts and left them once he had his fill. Even though he has a tragic past, screw that. He should be even more motivated to treat women right.
The love interest, Catherine, I liked her a lot, but I actually preferred the two previous heroines to her. Especially, Gwendolen.
One of the things that really makes me admire this series a little bit is the political and historical background, which also serves as plot. Of course, it's romantically focused, but it's also very interesting because of this. Since it's Scotland in the eighteenth century, there is a lot of tension because of what happened with the Stuart dynasty and the ongoing efforts to fight the British. Uprising after uprising.
Similar to Outlander it is sad to read about this, because Scottish people only wanted their freedom and even though the effort is admirable, they keep being slaughtered and defeated.
Anyway, I am not going there, otherwise I would make an essay instead of a review.
Gave this one 3.25 stars.
