Four Years Later by Emma Doherty

This kind of story always breaks my heart! With the name Four Years Later I thought the story would start with her assault and then jump to four years later, but instead the author really takes you through the aftermath. The aftermath seems to be mostly focused on perception and relationships/friendships rather than anything more complex or graphic, which makes it an easier read and not too dark. I also admire that this wasn’t one of those stories where the fmc just takes and immediately forgive and forgets crappy behavior directed toward her. The best friend Sam was a gem who stood on business through the end.
