I think I put off reading this last book in The Harder They Fall series because I didn’t want to leave the characters behind—thankfully there is the Mile High Billionaires series.

Miles has been one of my favourites since the beginning of the series when he was ‘just’ Weston’s little brother. Despite his more than questionable past, he has managed to turn himself around and become a character with a very nice redemption arc—and who doesn’t love a redemption arc?

Miles is a funny, intelligent young man who hides a very big heart underneath a tortured past that could have made him an utterly despicable being. He’s a lot more complex than he lets on, which makes him a very endearing character.

Honestly, I couldn’t have asked for a better partner for him than Daisy. She’s witty and funny and intelligent like him. She gives him balance. Having gone through a difficult adolescence herself—for different reasons, but similar to Miles’—she is certainly one of the people best placed to understand him.

I loved the banter between the two of them, but one of the things I loved most was the trusting relationship they built up with Reed, Daisy’s little brother. I found it very touching and heartwarming to see how much they cared for this troubled teenager.

I think this was my favourite book in the series. You can tell that Julia Wolf has become very attached to Miles over the course of the series—and who can blame her! This book also had the merit of making me tolerate Weston, which wasn’t easy.

I’m now going to continue my journey through this world by reading In the Details, the first book in the High Mile Billionaires series.
