Recursion by Blake Crouch

4.0

What if reality depended on our memories, so we could alter our reality by going back to change the memory we have of a particular moment in time? That is the concept of Blake Crouch's book Recursion and once again Crouch doesn't disappoint.
I found his other book, Dark Matter, easier to read as some of the
scientific parts of this book were a little harder to understand at first. Nevertheless, Recursion is also a very good read with intriguing philosophical and scientific concepts. In Recursion, just like in Dark Matter, Crouch plays with this idea of alternate realities in a captivating way that keeps the readers immersed in whatever reality Crouch has contrived.

I have also read his short story Summer Frost, and I absolutely love it!

The writing style of Blake Crouch could possibly be characterized as simple, yet not simplistic. The themes and concepts he engages us in are complex and ingenious. Certainly that is how they seem to me that I haven't read a lot of sci-fi/speculative fiction. I'm eager to read more of this genre as long as they don't get overly technical and go over my head.
