Scythe by Neal Shusterman
5.0
I am so pleasantly surprised by this book. I know this is one of Those YA Books and therefore, I always assumed it wouldn't live up to the hype. I'm so pleased to be wrong. I always imagined Scythe to be a very action-packed, typical dystopian YA novel, but that couldn't be further from the truth. This book is so thoughtful and quiet, and while there is action, there's always a muted sense of darkness over it - you're not supposed to enjoy it. I love the way this ends, because it sets up a sequel perfectly but could stand on its own. Now that I've finally made my foray into Shusterman, I can move on with my life. Except also read the next books.
