Zacharel intrigued me before this book and was glad when we got a book from him. Gena’s ability to world-build is just mind-boggling. Every time I feel like I’m getting the characters and universe down pat, she does something like this - introduces us to new characters and rules. This is NOT a complaint though! I think it’s fantastic she’s able to weave in new lore, and at the same time, provide us with fodder for even more books!
