84, Charing Cross Road by Helene Hanff

5.0

I loved this book so much. It was hard not to dog-ear every single page. (In the end, I turned down the corners of 11 pages in this 97 page book, so I didn't restrict myself too much).

The letters between Helene Hanff and Frank Doel (and his family and neighbors and the rest of the staff at Marks & Co. Booksellers at 84, Charing Cross Road are brief, and only a selection of the years-long correspondence is included in this tiny tome, but they contain so much! I laughed and smirked and learned and researched and cried, and by the end of the book, I wanted it to continue endlessly.

This book has been on my list for a long time, and I am so glad I finally found a copy to enjoy. I look forward to returning to this one many times for a heartwarming read or just to take a peek at some of my favorite letters and pages.
