Night Will Find You by Julia Heaberlin
4.0
The premise: A scientist and reluctant psychic returns home after her mother's passing, and is drawn into a missing child investigation by a childhood sweetheart.
What is not to be hooked by?! I went into this one knowing it was either going to be cheesy and dull AF, or completely engrossing, and I'm quite happy to say it was the latter. The audiobook version flowed nicely, and the narrator did a wonderful job with the story. There were enough twists and turns that I was wowed and my interest held, while at the same time, not so many that it felt like a Spiderman meme of confusion.
I enjoyed the character building, and the flashback that helped the reader feel like they understood some of the decisions that were happening, although I'm not sure I enjoyed the sister drama/romance aspect. It felt a bit unnecessary to the story, which is why I'm going with 4 stars here instead of 5.
However, all that said - absolutely check this one out if you're lured by the premise. It's 100% worth your time.
Thank you NetGalley and Macmillan Audio for sending this book for review consideration. All opinions are my own.
