I have been meaning to read this book for literal years - the number of times I've let my hold lapse on Libby is shameful - and I'm so glad I finally got around to reading it. This book is gorgeous, moving, powerful, funny, suspenseful, and vibrant all at once. I saw some reviews saying they didn't love the two plots, but I thought they worked really well together and kept things moving. This is a beautiful tribute to the author's grandfather, and an amazing story and snapshot of a 1950s Chippewa tribe in the Dakotas
