This book was intriguing to begin with and I found the lore of witches to be different than I have previously encountered. As the story continued it seemed to drag on unnecessarily, I just wanted to get to the point. The troupe of love/hate or love to hate between the main characters is strong in this tale leading to angsty tension that I do not care for. Due to the warnings at the beginning I was expecting an explicit, graphic, gory, potentially gross read; instead there was nothing that was too extreme for me. There was certainly more blood and gore than sex which was include for one full scene and otherwise a few oral encounters. Ending the way it does has me wanting to read the continuation of the tale in book two. Though, I do not know if I will actually do so. Overall, I found this story to be lackluster. Having finished reading it I am feeling very meh, can't say I liked it but I can't say I hated it.
Graphic: Gore, Sexual content, Violence, Blood, and Murder
Minor: Death of parent
