I think I love this book because of its realism. The characters feel so real, so flawed and messy and dimensional. Their relationships all seem genuine and complex. The plot meanders, never with any singular conflict, but exploring the ups and downs in our relationships with others over time. This book was sad and emotional, but I never felt hopeless or depressed while listening (the narrator(s) do a great job, by the way).
Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow really solidifies that I'm a character-based novel type of person. I can see why some people wouldn't like it or think that it's overhyped. I think that it's a beautifully written novel that explores friendship and growth that I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to a friend, even if they're not big into video games.
