Twilight by Stephenie Meyer

4.0

Re-read April 8th 2020 (in the midst of the Rona)
enjoyed, as usual. yeah there were issues. this time I tabbed and took notes as I went along and I one point I quoted Beartooth in their wise lyrics/words "this isn't trust, this is manipulation!"
anyways, the nostalgia and comfort this series brings me stands. and I still find entertainment and enjoyment in it.
I noticed so many things I never noticed all the other thousand times that I've read it before. Like to overarching apple from the tree in Eden shit. It was smart. And I think Meyer is actually a lot smarter than we give her credit for.
4/5 stars.

gonna sit this at 3 stars, mostly for the sake of nostalgia

Re-read this for the first time in YEARS, like MANY YEARS. And now that I've got an english major brain, (and I'm not a teenager anymore) I noticed so many things that both made sense as well as writing that was not-so-great. I want to do a video maybe? Mainly I noticed that Bella has crippling anxiety, Edward is extremely clingy: it's too bad there wasn't more mental health awareness in 2005, they both need help. Also I found that it's very jumpy - like, the character development happens outside of the plot: so much so, it's like they were written separately and then forced together.
It was entertaining nonetheless, and I'm still extremely nostalgic about it, being a "twihard." *cringe* So I'm gonna give it the good 'ole 2.5 stars, right in the middle. Not too bad, but not too good, either.
