What it's about:
Violet must risk her life to join the rider's quadrant instead of joining the scribes, the safe quadrant that she's trained her whole life to join. She's surprised to find how well she fits in with these fierce warriors and people she once thought were traitors.
What I thought:
I absolutely loved my re-read! This was my favorite book of 2023 for good reason. I'm just as obsessed with it the second time through. Xaden is still one of my favorite book boyfriends too.
- This re-read was just as amazing as the first time
- There were so many moments I had forgotten that I loved
- The nickname for Violet is still a favorite of mine
- The sad part was just as devastating a second time around
- I love Xaden so much
- Dain still very much irritates me
- Tairn is still one of my favorite characters because he has a great sense of humor
🎧 Audiobook Thoughts: the graphic audio was amazing! I would definitely recommend this format. The sound effects and music really added to the experience, and I loved having different narrators for all the characters. It felt like listening to a movie. I’ve got to say that it’s a bit awkward listening to the kissing scenes lol, but I skipped over the spicy parts 😅
🌶️ most of the spice in this book is easy to skip over; however, sometimes the characters think back to those moments and those thoughts pop up randomly.
Quotes I liked:
Graphic: Bullying, Cursing, Death, Gore, Sexual content, Violence, and Murder
Moderate: Blood, Vomit, Death of parent, and Injury/Injury detail
