I know this is not going to be a book for everyone, but it was the book for me! Albeit a little slow going, the book manages to be incredibly engaging. It's filled with fantastic characters that start to feel like real people with how the author shapes out their backstories. I couldn't help but get incredibly attached to each and every one of them. The writing style is DELICIOUS. It's incredibly atmospheric and fitting to the story.

While I'm not sure if this is a story that needs to be a duology (will let you know after I read book two), I'm still eager to get to the next book after that ENDING!!! :(
