What Did My Ancestors Eat? by Quinn Miller Murphy
4.0
If you are not a foodie, then this might not appeal to you. Some kids in the world have so much rich culture and history, but they just don't know it. It is important for a person to know from whence and where they come from. Even though you would think that America is not a melting pot of different people, I am wise enough to tell you that it is indeed. All of those different cultures, races, and ethnicities in America make it a good place to be. Diverse people make for a better world.
It is imperative to teach our own kids as well as others how we are unique, the same, and different. Food is one place where we can all come together and enjoy. There are so many things that I enjoy as a person who lives in the South. I love good, homemade Southern Black soul food. My daughter loves when I bake homemade macaroni and cheese for the family. It's a staple in our Black culture.
I also know that I enjoy other types of food from different families and their cultures. I love Mexican and Italian food. It is so flavorful and exciting to see the new dishes from these groups of people. I love food.
I'm full with 4 stars on this board book. Great illustrations and art to hold a child's attention and fuel their curiosity.
Thank you @rowhousepublishing for the gifted e-book.
